When creating our core visitor management system, Welcm, we decided we wanted to make it accessible to as many organisations as possible. This meant including the right features to make the system suitable for the majority of organisations without overcomplicating it with a multitude of niche features. We believe, and our customers seem to agree, that we have achieved that goal.
However, we still wanted to be able to help those organisations that had niche requirements which weren't satisfied by our, or other, off-the-shelf visitor management systems. To do this we created Welcm Custom. Welcm Custom allows us to deliver bespoke visitor management systems on a SaaS basis to customers who would have otherwise had to pay a software development company to build one from scratch.
How it works
All Welcm Custom systems are built using Welcm as the starting point. This means customers get a customised version of the tried and tested visitor management system hundreds of organisations around the world rely on. Our developers and customer success teams ensure that any new features that are required, or any changes to existing features, are implemented successfully to ensure the bespoke system meets all the technical and business needs it should.
In creating custom visitor management systems we can not only add new features but also customise existing ones. Some examples of this sort of work includes the following:
New feature: Contractor sign in
Function: An additional button on the home screen specifically for contractors. The sign in flow was made up of a number of fields and pages not included in the standard sign in flows.
Customisation: App redesign to match corporate branding
Function: A number of changes were made to the standard app. These included new button designs, a change of font and custom messages.
New feature: "Rate your visit" survey
Function: This feature added a single screen at the end of the visitor sign out flow. Visitors were asked to select 1-3 to rate the quality of their visit. Ratings were automatically anonymised however the visitor was given the option to attach their details to the rating if they wished. Rating statistics were accessible via the visitor management system dashboard.
Customisation: Automated email redesign to match corporate branding
Function: Welcm sends a number of automated emails on behalf of our customers. For example, meeting invitations, visitor sign in notifications and login instructions. These emails were redesigned to match our customer's brand guidelines.
New feature: Staff photos
Function: A photo was displayed alongside host names when visitors were asked to select their host upon sign in. This allowed visitors to recognise their host when they arrived in reception to greet them.
